From the Seed of God!
by Lani W. Finley
The Holy Spirit of God
has many dimensions and attributes. God's Spirit possesses such great and
immense power that our human minds simply cannot comprehend it. By His
Spirit God created all living beings and framed the entire universe. He
also maintains all jurisdiction and authority by His mighty Spirit.
However, the Spirit also has a very gentle and nurturing aspect.
God had a kingdom
and God had a government before the creation of the world, but He did
not have a family. God's generous and loving heart longed to share
His life and possessions with other family members. The Spirit is
diligently performing this primary work. Witnessing of Jesus Christ and
bringing many into the Family of God. His Spirit is completely dedicated to
this cause.
The Christian world has
mistakenly adopted the doctrine that the Holy Spirit is a Person. But this
belief really does not picture a God, who is intimately involved with His
children? God's Spirit is the "fountain of life and love that flows from
the deepest dimension of God". It is the "Seed of God". The
God-gene that transmits His exact life, likeness, character and love to
mortal man. Would God really transmit all these attributes into His future
children through a third person? Wouldn't that make God our stepfather?
God answers this question for us in His Holy Word,
God hath
fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus
again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son,
this day have I begotten thee (Acts 13:33).
In this verse the word "I" is the
Greek word ego. It literally means "I, or Me". This verse
testifies that God alone, was the was the One who gave life to His Son,
Jesus Christ. This life was "transmitted" to Jesus through the mighty
power of God, which He calls His Holy Spirit. God the Father (the Supreme
Ruler of the Universe) is the one-and-only "biological" father of Jesus
Christ - not the Holy Spirit.
Even man's courts of law do not hold a
man responsible for a child, which does not possess his DNA and genes.
And neither do repentant Christians obtain the "seed of God" from anyone but
God Himself. So, why has the doctrine of the Trinity so permeated
modern Christianity? Who was behind it?
Error Binds Mankind
God's Word is the only
standard of truth available to mankind. It is the standard of truth against
which we should measure all other information. Any information that does
not agree with the revealed truths in God's Word should be discredited and
rejected. We should not allow it access to, or a place in our Christian
life. "If it's truth that that sets us free - then it's error that
binds us". Who is the "author" of error? Who does not want us
to be free? The answer is that great deceiver, Satan the Devil.
How did the great
untruth, about a third person in the Godhead become established into the
Christian world? I am not speaking of the date it was incorporated into the
Christian community, but rather who was behind it and why?
Satan (the archenemy of
God and the human race) caused division in the angelic world by subtle, but
devastating lies. He caused the fall of Adam and Eve by cunning lies. His
greatest weapon against Believers is also lies. A Christian has God's
physical protection from the devil. Satan has no more physical access to us
other than what we allow. Nevertheless, the devil can influence our
attitudes and thoughts. He is the "Prince of the power of the air". This
is where he makes war with us. That is why God's Word directs us to "guard
our hearts". But why was this doctrine of a third person in the Godhead so
important to the devil? It is because of Satan's "ego".
Satan knows God and
Jesus and all their splendor and glory. He knows their power and majesty
and he longs and yearns within himself to be like them. He recognizes their
innate goodness, wholesomeness and purity. With all his heart, he wants to
be God, but he knows that it is impossible for him. He can never have the
"seed of God". He can not change his corrupted heart, but he covets what
belongs to God. Therefore, he has deceived the Christian community into
believing that there is a third person in the Godhead. He has
counterfeited himself into being that third person. It is Satan that
wants us to believe that Our Heavenly Father has used a surrogate to
beget His children, and Satan has fostered himself off upon modern
Christianity to be that surrogate of the Father.
However, Satan is impotent. He cannot reproduce, nor give life to anyone.
The only thing he can procreate is LIES AND DECEPTION.
Jesus, Conceived to Give Forgiveness and Life
And the angel
answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the
power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy
thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God (Luke
1:35).
Jesus was not given
life through the seed of a man, but by the "seed of God. Since the blood
comes from the father's seed, Jesus was divine. Since the life of the flesh
is in the blood, the life of Jesus was divine. He was God in the flesh.
"Call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us" (Matt.
1:23).1
God the Father "sired"
Jesus within the body of Mary. If anyone other than "The Most High God"
sired Jesus - then Jesus is God's stepson, and cannot legally claim to be
the Son of God. God has neither sperm banks, nor surrogates.
The seed of God is holy
and has no sin in it, therefore, there was no sin handed down to Jesus. It
was not only necessary that the "Savior of the world" lives a sinless life,
but he also had to be conceived and born in a sinless state.
The most costly thing
God ever did was to love mankind. It cost Him the death of His Son. The
birth and sacrifice of Jesus were certainly two of the most universally
astounding events that will ever occur. However, as great as these events
were, they are just the beginning of God's plan of redemption for the human
race. When God looked upon mankind He not only saw the necessity for
forgiveness of sins, but He also saw that death had claimed His future
children. Man not only needed forgiveness, but also needed life. We
sometimes focus so intently upon the crucifixion of Jesus that we fail to
understand the importance of why it was necessary for mankind to be forgiven
and cleansed.
The Reason
Christians Are Cleansed
This question can best
be answered by a simple illustration. Most of us have witnessed our mothers
canning preserves and vegetables in the family kitchen. First, our mothers
would boil the jars to sterilize them. But why did they go to
all the trouble to cleanse the jars? To just sit on a shelf
and decorate the kitchen? No, the jars were sterilized so that they
could be filled with something. That is exactly the reason it
is necessary for Christ's sacrifice to sterilize (or cleanse) us. So that
He can fill us with something - with the same Spirit that God filled
Jesus. It is Jesus that "baptizes us with the Spirit" (In Mark
1:8). Christ's purpose in cleansing us is to give us LIFE. We must always
remember that we are forgiven by the death of Jesus, but we are saved by His
life.
"For if, when we
were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more,
being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life (Rom 5:10).
The whole purpose of
Christ's sacrifice was to prepare us to receive God's seed life. The seed
of The Heavenly Father's Spirit and life - not a fraudulent surrogate.
There is a third aspect
of the canning process that also relates to the Believer. When the canning
jars are sterilized and filled - then they are sealed.
We have also been sealed with the Spirit of God,
"Now he which
stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath
also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts (2
Cor 1:21-22).
The Greek word for
sealed literally means "to stamp with a private mark for security or
preservation". God gives us this seal to preserve us for a role in His
wonderful family.
It is expedient for you that I go away
Jesus knew that God's
plan of love for mankind would not be complete until the Holy Spirit was
made available to the world.
"Nevertheless I
tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not
away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him
unto you" (John 16: 7).
The word expedient
means "important, urgent, necessary". Why was it so necessary for Jesus to
ascend to God's throne? Because the message of salvation could not reach
the entire world by the efforts of one person. Jesus, the person, could
only be in one place at one time. However, the Holy Spirit could witness
the great works of Jesus to the entire world.
Salvation cannot be obtained
until the message is heard. It is through the Holy Spirit that God and
Jesus work to spread message of grace throughout the entire world. The
Spirit of God is busy today witnessing of our Savior, preaching truth, grace
and repentance and turning the hearts of the people to the only true God.
God - by the works of Jesus -and through the gift of His Spirit - is
offering mankind all the things that the human heart has been seeking for
the past 6,000 years. The free gift of God's Spirit is our assurance that
we have been forgiven, begotten and sealed until the day we are transformed
into His very likeness. The Holy Spirit also witnesses to our hearts,
that we are the children of our Eternal Heavenly Father.
For as many as
are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15
For ye
have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but
ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16
The
Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children
of God: (Rom 8:14-16).
