CHAPTER 10
Concluding Thoughts
This book has revealed the ancient roots of Christmas and what God’s Word
tells us about the pagan traditions and customs practiced during the
Christmas season. Christmas time is a joyous time indeed for millions
worldwide. Many are very sincere about their worship toward God during
Christmas season. With all the wonderful songs, bright colored lights,
beautiful snow-white picturesque scenes of winter, gorgeously decorated
trees, the emotional holiday music that bring fond memories, and the season
of so much giving there is much good-heartedness that comes from Christmas.
However, we Christians need to remember that truth is not based on feelings
or emotions toward a particular religious lifestyle. It is based on the
Word of God. That Word has power to convict our hearts to move us to God’s
will. And that may or may not be what we Christians initially want it to
be. But after all it is God’s will and not our own.
Christmas needs to be seriously examined by every believer. Even though
there are “good works” that are produced during the Christmas season, it
doesn’t warrant Christians to rationalize the celebration of a pagan
tradition when the Word of God is strictly against that type of worship.
History reveals that the pagans had many “good works” and “good will” toward
one another as well. But they were honoring false gods through their
traditions. And those pagan traditions are not to be used to honor the name
of Jesus Christ. Many of the Eastern religions today produce “good works”
toward fellow man, but they do not necessarily proclaim the truth of God.
“Good works” don’t always reveal the truth of God. We Christians need to
realize that God does not see things the way we do. Just because we feel
good about a certain type of worship does not obligate God to receive that
type of worship. God understands the history of Christmas and the paganism
that produced it far better than we do. So we must remember all the
scriptures that warn us about pagan practices that would severely question
the Biblical validity of Christmas. As revealed in this book Christmas was
celebrated long before the birth of Christ under a different name of pagan
sun worship during the winter solstice. Christmas was brought into the
Christian religion, long after the apostles died off, under the oppression
of the early Roman Catholic Church. Christmas is nothing more than an
ancient pagan religious festival that has been repackaged with the name of
Jesus Christ for our consumption. The practices are still the same, only
they are rationalized by applying Christ name to them.
It is important that we test our beliefs and confront our own faith,
examining it in all areas by only using the Bible as our rulebook. Perhaps
we shouldn’t conjure up ideas on how we should give God our worship during
the Christmas season, but rather ask ourselves “does God accept our worship
in this manner”?
Jesus Christ is coming soon for His people. People who remain true to His
Word and “…keep the commandments of God…” (Rev. 12:17). He is
coming to wed His Bride soon (Rev. 19:9) and will not accept anything
less than a chaste virgin (2Cor. 11:2). He will soon break through
our atmosphere and utterly crush every wicked lie Satan has contrived.
Every nation will bow to Christ as King over all the earth (Zech. 14:9)
and will be keeping the Feast of Tabernacles. There is no mention of a
Christmas celebration in the future rule of Jesus Christ.
Remember, God the Father loves you. Jesus Christ loves you. And they
desire for you to share the wonderful soon-coming Kingdom of God that will
set its authority over all nations and promise peace, harmony, and love for
the whole world (Isa. 2:1-4; 11:9, Dan. 7:14,27, Mic. 4:1-3, Rev. 11:15).
There will be peace for one thousand (Rev. 20:6) years and a great
hope for what is in store for all who take hold of the Covenant of Christ.
What a wonderful time that will be for all God’s people! Jesus Christ
offers every person salvation by repentance, baptism, and the laying on of
hands for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Mark16:16, Acts 2:38; 8:17;
19:6). This includes you! Then you too can be promised entry into the
Kingdom of God upon Christ soon triumphant return. May God give you the
strength, courage and the wisdom to “…prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Rom. 12:2).
“…Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so,
come, Lord Jesus. The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Amen.” Revelation 22:20-21
